How to: Develop MOSS/SharePoint Environment

I am going to split this topic into 2 stages(general, for developer)  depend upon the requirement/usage.

Stage 1: General

Steps

  1. Install "Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition" with Service Pack(SP1)
  2. Install IIS
  3. Install Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework (filename: Dotnet framework 2.x.exe)
  4. Install Microsoft .NET 3.0 Framework (filename: dotnetfx3setup.exe)
  5. Configure Web Services Extensions
  6. Prepare Service Account
  7. Install "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition"
  8. Install "Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007"(MOSS)
    1. For Option > "Basic" Vs "Advanced", Select "Advanced"
    2. For Option > "Server Type", Select "Complete"
  9. Configure MOSS Initial Configurations
  10. Install Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 1 (filename: wssv3sp1-kb936988-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe)
  11. Install Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (filename: officeserver2007sp1-kb936984-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe)
  12. Configure MOSS Central Site & Main Site

Stage 2: For Developer

Steps

  1. Install Microsoft Office 2007
    1. Word 2007
    2. Excel 2007
    3. InfoPath 2007 (Must)
  2. Install Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007 with Service Pack 1 (filename: sharepointdesigner2007sp1-kb937162-fullfile-en-us.exe) (optional)
  3. Install Visual Studio 2005 With Service Pack (filename: VS80sp1-KB926601-X86-ENU.exe)
  4. Install Office Server SDK (filename: OfficeServerSDK.exe)
  5. Install Windows SharePoint Server SDK (filename: WssSDK.exe)
  6. Install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Tools: Visual Studio 2005 Extensions, Version 1.1 (filename: VSeWSSv11.exe)
  7. Install Visual Studio 2005 extensions for .NET Framework 3.0 (Windows Workflow Foundation)
